1. Make the Background
Duplicate the Background: First of all duplicate the “Background” layer. Right click
on it and select “Duplicate Layer” or press Ctrl+J. Disappear the Layers: Disappear the “Background”
and “Background Copy” layers. Add the Blank Layer: Click on “New Layer” icon at the bottom of the
layer panel to create New “Black Layer”.
Select the Gradient Tool: Now select the “Gradient Tool” or press G (Shortcut of Gradient Tool), choose the two colors (foreground color & background color) that you want. Blend the Colors: Now blend the two colors by dragging the Gradient tool to make the background. Move the Background Copy to Top: Now click and drag the “Background Copy” layer to the top the “Layer 1”.
2. Create the Black and White Layer
Create the Black Layer: Select the “Background Copy” layer, then
select the “Rectangular Tool” or press “U” (shortcut of Rectangular Tool). Make
rectangular box, then right click on “Rectangular 1” layer that you have just
made and select “Rasterize Layer”.
Create the White Layer: Duplicate the “Rectangular 1” layer, by right click on it and select “Duplicate Layer” from the list or simply press Ctrl+J. Now right click on “Rectangular 1 copy” layer and select “Blending Options”. In the Layer Style dialog box, check the “Color Overlay”, then select the white color if it is not selected and hit OK.
3. Setting the Black and White Layers
Rename the White and Black Laeyers: Now rename the “Rectangular 1 copy” layer to White by double click on it and “Rectangular 1” layer with Black. Then move the “Black” layer to the top of the “White” Layer.
Set the Posiontion of the Layers: Select the “White” layer, then press Ctrl+T to transform the White Layer, by pressing and holding the Shift+Alt, large the size of White layer, give some shadow to White layer, click on layer style, then choose "Drop Shadow".
4. Create Clipping Mask
Clipping Mask: Move the “Background copy” layer to the top of “White” and “Black” layers. Then right click on “Background copy” layer and select “Create Clipping Mask” from the list. Here we go…
Move the Black/White Layers: Select the “White and Black” layers by pressing and holding the Ctrl key. Make sure that you selected the Move Tool, move the layers to another location of the image that you want to set. You can also rotate the rectangles by pressing Ctrl+T.
5. Collage Effect
Copy the Black/White Layers: Select the three layers (Black, White and Background copy) and duplicate them by pressing Ctrl+J. then it is very important that you deselect the “Background copy 1” layer by press/hold the Ctrl key and click on “Background copy 1” layer to deselect it. While the White and Black layers Selected. Move the “white and black” layers to another location to create another image.
6. Repeated and repeated the process until done
Repeate and Repeate the Process: Then repeated and repeated this process. By selecting the black, white and background copy and duplicate them by pressing Ctrl+J. Then deselect the background copy layer by press/hold Ctrl key and keep selecting the white and black layer. Move the layers to and another location to create the image.
Give some rotation to this image. Repeated and repeated this
process until final Collage Effect done.
